This project is based on a website for a school I designed two years ago. I re-architected the most core section of the the website flow for a more streamlined use centered experience.
Top user task: submitting an online application.
Submitting an online application is one of the top tasks that users of this website try to accomplish. It successfully align the user’s and business’ goals, and forms a point of connection. Whether the process is user friendly or not directly affect the potential customer’s feeling towards the business’ brand or product. But the need of compliance always stands in the way of creating a smooth and delightful experience. To begin with, I created a much simpler flow chart.
Comparing to the old design, I would like to create a new layout that can be easily turned into a responsive version. Also I had grouped the contents on Home Page into primary and secondary groups to represent a clearer hierarchy.
I created wireframes of each step of the process if the user start application on Home Page by clicking “Apply” and proceed as an international student (as it is the most common type of user).
